Yay! I was so happy to find out you had a deviantart account! And that you posted this book. I've been in love with Poe's work for quite some time and your illustrations fit the stories perfectly! Much love!

I have to admit, my hands are inspired by one of my favorite artists Egon Schiele.

Yep.
When I was a kid there was this tv show called The 430 movie.
They would have weekly themes, one week was Edgar Allan Poe week, they would
show his movies. Also they had Vincent Price in them too.

Found a copy of this at one of the Austin libraries, and so far, I'm up to The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether. I really enjoyed The Tell-Tale Heart however, and your illustrations brilliantly enhanced it, especially how insane the protagonist looks when he confesses his crime in the end and pulls up the planks. It was morbidly fun to look at, definitely. The cover definitely has a grim horror feel to it, with a lot of black ink and earth toned watercolors, and the only other color that isn't a neutral is red.

By the way, this wasn't my first exposure to Edgar Allan Poe's work. I've read some of his stuff in my English classes in grade school.

I really, really like your style. Somehow your inking and splatters are just so genuine, and all your shapes and designs are great. Your style looks so awesome with type, too :)
